![]() Throughout this process the students will develop critical thinking, self-management, creativity and communication skills.ħth graders will present the findings of independent "Permaculture" Plant experiments! Specifically, as we learn about soil, decomposers, and plants in class, each student will craft, conduct, and present a scientific investigation that answers this question " How can we, as young scientists, design, conduct, and present an experiment that helps us learn about how to grow the healthiest plants for our Permaculture garden?"Ħth graders will be showcasing individual research, designs, and investigations all related to a topic of their interest in the field of Earth and Space Science. Students will create their own guiding question, and develop a claim that is supported by evidence. ![]() 8th graders will explore the argument driven inquiry process in order to gain an authentic understanding of Newton's Laws of Motion.More details to come from your student's science teacher, but the following is a sneak preview:.Ask students to talk to their science teacher if they have trouble. In most cases, students will need to supply a 3'x4' tri-fold posterboard to prepare for this event make sure to track one down with plenty of time to spare.If there is a calendar conflict that cannot be resolved, please reach out to your student's science teacher so that we can attempt to make accommodations. We hope that students will make arrangements to be in attendance for this important culminating event. This evening event is something that is required, not optional for ALL MS students. At the Middle School level for this required event, each grade will showcase concepts and skills gained in their respective science subject areas, and also have the chance to see other students' exhibitions and enjoy some special science-related (human and non-human) guests.
